In accordance with the Virginia Beach City Code, Section 2-21, and by the authority vested in me
as Mayor of the City of Virginia Beach, I hereby call for a SPECIAL FORMAL SESSION of the
VIRGINL4 BEACH CITY COUNCIL:

A Formal Session is already part of this regularly scheduled meeting, but that Formal Session is
limited to the consideration of candidates for appointment to boards or commissions. The purpose
of this SPECIAL FORMAL SESSION is to also enable the Council to CONVENE INTO
CLOSED SESSION to discuss the performance of its appointees and their compensation pursuant
to Section 2.2-3711(A)(1)
• Evaluation of the performance and compensation of Council
appointees
At the conclusion of the Closed Session, the City Council will reconvene in Open Session for the purpose
of certifying the Closed Session before adjourning. No appointments will be formally made at this meeting.
