G. ORDINANCES
1. Ordinance, on FIRST READING, authorizing the issuance of
Road Bonds in the amount of $27,270,000.
2. Ordinance, on FIRST READING, authorizing the issuance of
School Bonds in the amount of $22,830,000.
3. Ordinance, on FIRST READING, authorizing the issuance of
Water Supply Bonds (Lake Gaston) in the amount of
$49,385,000.
4 -Ordinance, on FIRST READING, authorizing the issuance of
Water and Sewer Bonds in the amount of $39,545,000.
(THESE ORDINANCES WILL BE PROVIDED TO COUNCIL ON MONDAY.)
H. CONSENT AGENDA
All matters listed under the Consent Agenda are considered in
the ordinary course of business by City Council and will be
enacted by one motion in the form listed. There wi I I be no
separate discussion of these items. If discussion is desired,
that item will be removed from the Consent Agenda and considered
separately.
1. Resolution approving the major design features of Haygood
Road from Independence Boulevard to 2.396 miles west of
Independence Boulevard; and, requesting the Virginia
Department of Highways and Transportation to proceed with
the advertisement for construction bids.
2. Ordinance, on SECOND READING, to reduce appropriations to
the Library Department and estimated revenues from the
Commonwealth by $2,657.
3. Ordinance, on FIRST READING, accepting funding from the
Virginia Division of Parks and Recreation and the Brigadoon
Civic League for the Brigadoon Park Fitness Trail and
appropriating these funds ($3,300).
4. Ordinance, on FIRST READING, to decrease the Pendleton Child
Service Center appropriation and revenue by $78,543.
(This matter was deferred for two weeks on February 13,
1984.)
5. Ordinance, on FIRST READING, to transfer funds of $220,413
and to authorize payment of $2,035,000 to Blue Cross-Blue
Shield of Virginia.
6. Ordinance, on FIRST READING, to transfer funds of $18,322
within the Department of Public Works to implement a
pavement maintenance management system (PAVER).
7. Ordinance, on FIRST READING, to allocate two additional
positions to Finance/Purchasing Division and transfer funds
of $9,535 from the General Fund Reserve for Contingencies
for these positions.
8. Ordinance to authorize a temporary encroachment into a
portion of the right-of-way of Potters Road to Dominion
Building Company, its assigns and successors in title.
9. Request of the City Attorney to confirm the appointment of
William C. Bunch, Jr. as assistant city attorney.
10. Ordinance to amend and reordain Article 1, Section 111 of
the Comprehensive Zoning Ordinance pertaining to
definitions.
(This matter was to be reconsidered on 2/27/84 but in order
to meet the necessary advertising requirements for this item
to be reconsidered, a week's deferral is requested.)
11. Raffle permit: Frank W. Cox High School Band Parents'
Association
12. Request of the City Treasurer for tax refunds in the amount
of $7,288.26.
13. Request of the Commissioner of the Revenue for license
refunds in the amount of $8,700.94.
