Mosqurro DISTRICT February 13, 1959 To: Honorable Board of Supervisors From: The Rudee Inlet Study Committee At the last meeting of the Honorable City Council of the City of Virginia Beach, a committee was appointed for the purpose of bringing together all information and all agencies concerned in the development of Rudee Inlet. This committee is composed of a cross section of individuals from the County and the City of Virginia Beach. The City has concluded that it is necessary for a Commission to be created so that a joint effort on the part of the County and City be con- ducted to promote our mutual interests. Therefore, the Study Committee respectively requests the Honorable Board of S. upervisors to adopt the attached Resolution respectively submitted by me as Secretary to the Rudee Inlet Study Committee. ~ Ve~/ truIy F. i~SON G~kl~kGE~ Secretary Rudee Inlet Study Committee FMG:jy CC:8 WHEREAs, the City of Virginia Beach and the County of Princess Anne are so situated as to have great undeveloped resources for the 'promotion of healthful and attractive recreation in the forms of sport fiahlng and boating, and whereas, the develop. ment of these resources will bring benefits to the citizens of the Commonwealth and of the communities, mentioned: 1. A commission is hereby created for the City of Virginia Beach and the County of Princess Anne, to be known as the Rudee Inlet Development Commission, which is to be composed of eleven members: Five of the said members of the Commission shall be appointed by the Council of the City of Virginia Beach; five shall he appointed by the Board of SUpervisors; the eleventh shall be r~med by the other ten. The general purpose of the C'ommission hereby created is to study the development of Rudee Inlet and adjacent waters of Princess Anne County, and Virginia Beach, and to report its findings to the Council of the City of Virginia Beach, and the Board of Super- visors of Princess Anne 0Ounty.
