This day personally appeared before me, Betty Ann Walker, a Notary
Public in and for the City of Norfolk, in the State of Virginia, in my City
aforesaid, R. Stanley Hudgins, who, upon being duly sworn according to law,
makes oath and says:
That he posted at the front door of the Court House of the Circuit
Court of Princess Anne County, Virginia, on the 14th day of December, 1956, a
notice in writing of the application of J. C. Hudgins, Samuel Schwartz and
James Monaco, to the Board of Supervisors of Princess Anne County, Virginia, to
close that portion of Cordwood Roed located north of Virginia Beach Boulevard
and that portion of a fifty (50) foot unnamed street, semetimes known as Vulcan
Avenue, located north of Virginia Beach Boulevard in the County of Princess Anne,
State of Virginia, and he did Further post notices at three places along each
of the said streets proposed to be closed, and that he further had said notice
published in the Norfolk Virginian-Pilot twice the next thirty days prior to
January 21, 1957, as will be shown by the attached affidavit and the Virginian-
Pilot. A copy of said notice is hereto attached to this affidavit.
He further makes oath that he has no persona~ interest in said matter.

TO ~ISCONTINUE, CLOSE AND VACATE CERTAIN STREETS
KNOWN AS CORDWOOD ROAD AND AN UNNAMED FIFTY FOOT
STREET LOCATED NORTH ~ THE VI~INIA BEACH BOULE-
VARD AND SHOWN ON A PLAT ENTITLED "DEPT. PUBLIC
WORKS, NORFOLK, VIRGINIA, OCTOBER 31, 1932, IN
PRINCESS ANNE COUNTY
Notice is hereby given that in accordance with the Statute in such
cases made and provided, the undersigned will apply to the Beard of Supervisors
of Princess Anne County at its meeting on Monday, the 21st day of January, 1957,
or as soon thereafter as it may be heard, to appoint viewers to view certain
streets as sh~n on the Plat entitled Dept. Public Works, Norfolk, Virginia,
Scale: 1" -_ lOOt, October 31, 1932, the said streets being sho~m on said plat
and described more particularly am follows, to-wit:
(a) Ail of Cordwood Road north of Virginia Beach Boulevard, said
boulevard shown on said plat as Broad Creek Road.
(b) Ail of certain unnamed street being Fifty Feet (50') in width
which intersects the northern side of Broad Creek Road amd runs between the
property shown on said plat as Crowder and an unnamed portion of land shown on
said plat, sometimes known as Vulcan Avenue. The said property shown as Cruder
now being owned by the petitioner, j. C. Hudgins, and the unnamed portion of
the property now being owned by Samuel Schwartz and James Mcaaco.
It is proposed that viewers will be authorized and directed to repert
in writing whether, in their opinion, aw inconveniences wo~ld result from the
discontinuance, closing and vacating of said streets aforesaid.
The undersigned, j. C. Nudgins, owns the piece of property shown as
Crowder ca the plat and fronting on the western side of C~rdwood Road and the
piece of property shown as Goble ca said plat and fronting on the eastern side
of Cordwood Road; the said J. C. Hudgins ~ns the piece of property shown as Crowder
on said plat and froating on the western side of unnamed Fifty Foot (50') road,
and the said Samuel Schwartz and Ja~es Monaco own the piece of property fremting
on the eastern side of the unnamed Fifty Foot (50') street sho~n ca said plat.
Given this 7th day of December, 1956.

, the following resolution was adopted:
WHEREAS R. L. Harcum and Leon Banks have petitioned this Board
of Supervisors for permission to connect a sewer main serving their re-
spective parcels of land located on the east side of Military Highway at
the intersection of Azalea Garden Road, with a main serving the sub-division
known as "Azalea Acres, Section 3", which, in turn, connects with mains
owned by the City of Norfolk; and
W~REA~ the City of Norfolk is willing $o permit such sewer
line of Harcum and Banks to be so connected if Princess Anne County will
pay to the City of Norfolk Fifteen Dollars ($15.00) per annum for each dwel-
ling, store or apartment unit served through such connections
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that such connection of the sewer line
of Harcum and Banks be and the same is hereby approved and the City of Norfolk
is requested to likewise approve the same, and the County agrees to pay to the
City of Norfolk Fifteen Dollars ($15.00)per annum for each dwelling, store or
apartment unit served through such connection; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the said R. L. Harcum and Leon Banks
shall enter into an agreement with Princess Anne County whereby a service
charge shall be imposed of Twenty Dollars ($20.00) per annum for each store,
dwelling or apartment unit served through such connection, which charge shall
be payable annually at the same time and subject to the same penalties and
interest for nonpayment as County taxes and levies, of which the sum of Fif-
teen Dollars ($15.00) per unit shall be paid to the City of Norfolk and Five
Dollars (~
,~5.00) per unit shall be retained by the County for the expense of
maintaining the sewer lines, which agreement shall be duly recorded in the
Clerk's Office of the Circuit Court of Princess Anne County.
