Oberndorf called to order the PUBLIC HEARING of the VIRGINIA BEACH CITY COUNCIL for the REAPPORTIONMENT AND 7-4 PLAN FOR ELECTORAL PROCESS in the Council Chamber, City Hall Building, on Wednesday, May 26, 1993, at 7:00 P.M. Council Members Present: John A. Baum, Robert W. Clyburn, Robert K. Dean, Louis t~ Jones, Paul J. Lanteigne, John D. Moss, Mayor Meyera E. Oberndorf, Nancy K~ Parker Council Members Absent: Linwood O. Branch, III, James W. Brazier, Jr., and Vice Mayor William D. Sessoms, Jr. -2- Item I-A. ITEM # 36850 The Mayor read the CALL TO SPECIAL SESSION: "HONORABLE MEMBERS OF CITY COUNCIL In accordance with the City Charter, Section 3.06, the City Code, Section 2-21, and by the authority vested in me as Mayor of the City, I hereby call SPECIAL FORMAL SESSION of the VIRGINIA BEACH CITY COUNCIL in the Council Chamber, City Hall Building, on Wednesday, May 26, 1993, at 7:00 P.M. for the following purpose: To conduct a Public Hearing for comment upon electoral plans heretofore submitted by interested persons and organizations. The City Council to consider the City's existing 7-4 Plan for election of City Council members and alternatives to this Plan.
