The Planning staff of the City presented the proposed plan which incorporates
a new theory of land use and buildings known as the LUI Method--meaning Land
Use Intensity.
In the operation of this plan certain established factors regarding the land
use, size and location of building on a particular site in relation to the
classification of the specific site control the allowable density per acre.
The use of this method will require the rezoning or adjustment of the Master
Zoning Map of the City to conform to the new requirements of the new require-
ments of the Comprehensive Plan. It was determined that the Master Zoning
Map and the Comprehensive Planning Ordinance would require simultaneous
adoption to be effective.
City Council decided to consider the presentation and requested the Planning
Commission to hold workshop sessions with interested parties and to this end
requested the City Manager to direct the Planning Director, Mr. Charles
Carrington, to serve as liaison for coordinating the meetings with the Planning
,r,')mmission and the interested parties with an ultimate report to be submitted
I the City Council.
At 10:15 p.m. the meeting adjourned.
