City is designing an expansion (33 spaces) ? of the Market Place parking lot Civic league has asked for expanded on- ? street parking using the connecting streets Residents want City to invest in the ? expansion of Little Island Park Create a solution to avoid access blockage ? to the Back Bay National Wildlife Refuge & the False Cape State Park With expanded parking comes additional ? restroom/changing requirements 2 Evaluated the south end street widths and safety ? issues on the E/W connecting streets Created one and two side on-street parking via ? adjustments to signage and space marking Conducted 4 consecutive weekend observations ? and continue making adjustments Added 140 new parking spaces ? Working through the civic league to incorporate ? resident suggestions Turning attention to increasing on-street parking ? at the north end 3 123-acre Signature Park Back Bay shoreline Atlantic Ocean beachfront Amenities: Coast Guard Lifesaving Station ? Phase III –To Be Determined Total Three Phase Project = 1,003 Parking Spaces Renovate existing parking lot for storm ? (459 new spaces) water management and to add 87 spaces Phase III Prelim Cost Estimate = $1.9M ? with pavers or $550,000 to resurface asphalt 7 Phase I -$752K from P&R CIP and possibly a ?
