CITY MANAGER'S BRIEFING
VBGOV. COM REDESIGN
4:35 P.M.
Kevin Fairley, Information Services Administrator — ComIT, and Jason Hall, City Webmaster — ComIT,
advised there is excitement with the new website in functionality and features to be brought for our
citizens. This is a little more than a redesign, essentially a total replacement of the systems and the
applications used to manage the Website. This system will "roll out" on all new hardware with a new
content management system, by which the users will input their content. As the tool set was new to the
Administrators, some of the smaller external websites were utilized as a proving ground. This allowed
staff the opportunity to learn the system. Sites exist now, which are employed in the new environment and
are utilized by the public. Launch Date —August 29, 2011 (GO LIVE)
