Sessoms, Jr., called to order the CITY MANAGER'S BRIEFINGS, in the City Council Conference Room, Tuesday, September 17, 2013, at 4:00 P.M. Council Members Present: Glenn R. Davis, Robert M. Dyer, Barbara M. Henley, Vice Mayor Louis R. Jones, John D. Moss, Amelia N. Ross-Hammond, Mayor William D. Sessoms,Jr., Rosemary Wilson and James L. Wood Council Members Absent: William R. "Bill"DeSteph—Out of town John E. Uhrin—Out of town -2- CITY MANAGER'S BRIEFINGS EAST COAST SURFING CHAMPIONSHIPS 50TH ANNI VERSAR Y 4:00 P.M. Mayor Sessoms introduced and welcomed Delegate Ron Villanueva. Delegate Villanueva expressed his appreciation to City Council for their continued support of the internationally recognized East Coast Surfing Championship (ECSC). This year's past event brought over 100,000 visitors to the City with a direct economic impact in excess of$14-Million. Delegate Villanueva presented House Joint Resolution 5023 to George Alcaraz—ECSC General Manager, and thanked Mr. Alcaraz for the continued dedication to the City. House Joint Resolution 5023 recognizes the importance of ECSC and commemorates the 501h Anniversary of the "second longest continuously-run surfing contest in the world."
