Vice Mayor Wilson welcomed BJ Bauman, Chair—Resort Advisory Commission. Ms. Bauman expressed
her appreciation to City Council for their continued support. Ms. Bauman provided an overview of the
Resort Advisory Commission(RAC)and advised the rest of the presentation will be presented by the Chairs
of RAC's Sub-Committees:
The Rasort Advisory Commission(RAC)is composed of 19 tbmmissionerswho have been appointed by Oty
Rwnal.The general purpose of the Commisaon is to review and make recommendations to Oty tbunal
regarding projects and issues associated with the Rzsort Strategic C3owth Area,and such other resort and/or
tourism-related projects and issues that Oty Renal may refer to the thmmission.The Commission's goal is to
support the Oty Cbunal's efforts to realize its vision of Virginia 8eadt as a quality resort destination.

VB POLICE DEPARTMENT CADET PROGRAM UPDATE
5:10 P.M.
Vice Mayor Wilson welcomed Chief Paul Neudigate. Chief Neudigate expressed his appreciation to City
Council for their continued support. Chief Neudigate advised the work to improve recruiting, staffing and
retention has been ongoing and expressed his pride and appreciation for the Body's support to fill twenty
(20) seats in the Police Cadet Program. Chief Neudigate advised, the first review of candidates was
completed with nine (9) applicants accepted into the program and asked Deputy Chief Wichtendahl to
introduce three(3) of the Cadets in attendance.
Deputy Chief Wichtendahl expressed it is her honor to introduce Cadets;Elijah Pogue,Jakyle Harris and
Savanna Gordon. Deputy Chief Wichtendahl advised Cadet Harris was hired and scheduled to begin the
current Police Academy but due to an error, he is now slated to go in February. Deputy Chief Wichtendahl
explained while he awaits the February Academy, he is completing the Cadet Program and asked Cadet
Harris to share his experiences in the program.
Cadet Harris expressed his appreciation for the opportunity to be one of the first Cadets in the program
and advised the training is a great jump start for his career in law enforcement. Cadet Harris advised he
has enjoyed learning the Department and learning how to operate cameras at the Oceanfront to assist
Police Officers in the 2nd Precinct. Cadet Harris again expressed his appreciation and is looking forward
to entering the Academy in February.
Vice Mayor Wilson congratulated the Cadets and expressed her appreciation to Chief Neudigate and
Deputy Chief Wichtendahl for the presentation and introducing the Cadets.

RAMP and Parking Strategy Support
• The Resort Area Mobility Plan (RAMP), with Resort Stakeholder
support, is recommending the development of additional public
parking spaces throughout the Resort with a focus on the area north
of 31St Street.
• The 2013 Kimley-Horn Parking Strategy supports the continued
dispersal of public parking throughout the Resort to support higher
parking demands and work with private developers to develop public
parking as part of larger private developments.
