Parks and Rec Abruptly Cut Youth Football without warning or involvement from Area Associations 2022 – Citing Lack of Resources, PAAC wasn’t made available. Ran into Roadblocks with Parks and Rec throughout the process. 2/1/16 – Meeting with Mayor Sessoms and Deputy City Manager Cindy Curtis. Mayor Sessoms Reinstated Youth Football 8/3/2021 – Met with City Council City Council Agreed to Support and Fund Youth Football. $9,969 of Grant Funding Provided 2022 - Grant Money Decreased to $8,646 with no explanation provided from Parks and Rec. Affordability Continued field usage at PAAC as it has been since fields were built in early 2000’s to support Va Beach youth football. Field Usage at PAAC These youth need opportunity to grow and prosper without limitations. Provide Opportunity This group is the voice of these young kids. They need someone to stand up for them. They need assistance from City Council to have help support their growth and development.
