The Chair will entertain a motion to recess into a closed session pursuant to the exemption(s)
from open meetings allowed by Section 2.2-3711(A) Code of Virginia, as amended, for the
following purpose(s):
LEGAL MATTERS: Consultation with legal counsel employed or retained by a public body
regarding specific legal matters requiring the provision of legal advice by such counsel pursuant
to Section 2.2-3711(A)(8).
• Atlantic Park (Requested by City Manager and City Attorney)
LEGAL MATTERS: Consultation with legal counsel and briefings by staff members or consultants
pertainingto actual or probable litigation, where such consultation or briefing in an open meeting
would adversely affect the negotiating or litigating posture of the public body pursuant to Section
2.2-3711(A)(7).
• Atlantic Park (Requested by City Manager and City Attorney)
PUBLICLY HELD PROPERTY: Discussion or consideration of the acquisition of real property for
public purpose, or of the disposition of publicly held property, where discussion in an open
meeting would adversely affect the bargaining position or negotiating strategy of the public body
pursuant to Section 2.2-3711(A)(3).
• District 6 (Requested by City Manager)
• District 5 (Requested by City Manager)
• District 2 (Requested by City Manager)
PERSONNEL MATTERS: Discussion, consideration, or interviews of prospective candidates for
employment, assignment, appointment, promotion, performance, demotion, salaries,
disciplining, or resignation of specific public officers, appointees, or employees of any public body
pursuant to Section 2.2-3711(A)(1).
• Council Appointments: Council, Boards, Commissions, Committees, Authorities, Agencies
and Appointees (Requested by City Council)
